A fearless 9 year old sets the example for group of adults!!

Give The Word had a group of adults standing around the table along with one 9 year old girl. They were all standing around listening to me talk about how Give the Word equips ministries for outreach. Once it came time for me to offe...r them the free Bibles, they were all reaching out their hands eager to take one so I gave them each a Bible and said "you're all missionaries in one way or another. This Bible is only free to take if you give it away to someone who needs one". One by one people put the Bible back saying things like "I don't know anyone who needs one, I don't think I could do that, that's your thing, I don't actually need this Bible". The nine year old girl says in front of all these people "Can you give me a few more Bibles? I have a whole bunch of people in my school who don't know who Jesus is and I would like to give these to them" WOW!!!Needless to say, we stocked her up!!
This little girl blew these adults out of the water and I'm know some of them felt the burn as they listened to her response. This defenceless little girl had the guts to face her peers in school with the Bible, subjecting herself to bullying, teasing and all that kind of stuff, but these adults AT A MISSONS/OUTREACH EVENT couldn't find a reason or the courage to give even one away. One of the adults ended up taking back their Bible. It goes to show the state we are in terms of keeping our faith to ourselves. We all say "my faith is THE most important thing in my life", but how many people outside our circle know that. The most important thing in our lives are the things we talk about the most.
We have a duty to make Him known. Approach it like a child, fearless and eager to share what Jesus has done for you, you'll be amazed what happens. Give the Word is here to equip anyone who wants to take that step of sharing their faith. We'll provide you with a Bible designed for this purpose, all you have to do is ask.

a booth set up at an outreach/missions/evangelism event not too long ago. Our table was stacked with FREE outreach Bibles, so naturally people would walk by asking if they could have one.
Luke 18:16
Then Jesus called for the children and said to the desciples, "let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children""

A simple call turns out to be instant and direct answer to prayer

This is Awesome, you gotta read this!!
This morning I was flipping through a copy of Christian Week magazine(https://www.facebook.com/ChristianWeek) when an article caught my eye. It was about a newer ministry in Fort St. John, BC...waaaaaay up north. For some reason the thought came to my head "call them, they need Bibles" so, naturally, I called them.
A super nice Lady answered the phone and I asked her about their ministry. She told me that they are a recovery ministry for those dealing with addictions and other major life issues that need healing. She went on to tell me more about the ministry and asked me what I was interested in. I said...something tells me that you need Bibles...Life Recovery Bibles. She burst out laughing and said YES, we were JUST talking about the fact that we have no Bibles when you called and nobody has stepped up to help us out with any..there are no Christian book stores around and we cannot afford to buy these Bibles online with our budget....Why? Can you help us? I went on to tell her about Give the Word and what we do. All I can hear in the background is her quietly saying is "Thank you God....Thank you God....". I told her we'd send her out whatever they need. I told her we'd also send out some outreach Bibles that they can use for giving the the families of the people in recovery as well. They could not believe what they were hearing. For them, this was an Instant and Direct answer to prayer. Someone was calling them to offer them the EXACT Bible that they needed for FREE.
She then went on to say that her husband runs a drop in shelter/ministry in Owen Sound Ontario. She didn't want to be presumptuous, but asked if we ship Bibles to Ontario..I said ya, we ship all over Canada and we'd gladly help you out there too if you have a need. At this point she's just laughing and saying thank you over and over.
Today we ordering and shipping them three cases of Bibles that they need to run their recovery ministry in Northern BC and will be taking further about their Bible needs for their Ontario shelter.
For me this was just a nudge, routine even, a simple phone call. For them this was a miracle and totally put this situation into perspective. Thank you God for orchestrating another answer to prayer and thank you to those who allow Give the Word to keep doing what we do with your support.

The Power of Stories and Testimonies....Gotta read this!!!

We got an email from someone yesterday who said...

"I love reading all the stories and testimonies that you post. I have been following your Give the Word Facebook page and have been so inspired by all the stories of lives that have been changed. I was wondering if you would be able to provide a Bible for me and my husband. It has been many many years since I have opened a Bible but we now feel God has been giving us a kick in the butt. This is all going to be very new so we would need a Bible that is very easy to understand.... We have also decided that we would like to find a church that we could attend as well, so the hunt is on. We want to be an example to our kids and raise them in Godly home."

We were able to provide Beginners Bibles for the her family. Her son is a MASSIVE fan of Fresh IE who happens to be a good friend of mine and we are going to try and set up a meet and great with a singed copy of the KMF music ministry Bible that we did for Fresh IE as an outreach project. It is SO exciting to see a family start their faith journey together and its so awesome to know that the stories and testimonies that have come from Give the Word sparked this new journey for them. I'm blown away by God!! Love it!!!

Yesterday was met with some significant challenges, but after receiving this email, those challenges were far from my mind. God is using Give the Word as a conduit to build his Kingdom. I am constantly amazed at the stories that keep coming in. I just want to let you all know that your funds and prayers that you are supplying us with are truly making a huge difference. The Bible is so much more than a book...its a message hope....and people are finding that hope..we're seeing it every day. Thank you so much for your support.

Bibles reaching 20 widows in Northern Manitoba.

A man called us to ask if we could provide 20 outreach Bibles to be placed in 20 food hampers that were being donated to 20 widows in a first nations community up north. The next day we dropped off the Bibles for them...They could not have been more thankful.  Turns out it's Max and Patricia Thunder, first nations evangelists. They invited me into their home for lunch and shared stories of how they are using God's Word to reach people for Christ all over the place. He had a vision and a dream to see a Bible put in every home in Canada and was SO happy to be partnering with Give the Word.
Max shared a very touching story with me...He said God's Word is just as alive in a trash can as it is in someones hands. He said during his travels in Canada, A man he knows who was not a christian at all saw that there was a Bible that was thrown in the trash. He picked it up and brought it home because even though he didn't believe in Jesus, he thought that a Bible don'ts belong in a trash bin. He started to read it when he got home and two weeks later came to the realization that Christ was real and gave his life to Jesus.
Max gave me enough encouragement to last a long time. He made it very clear that Give the Word is needed, VERY needed right here at home.
We will continue to keep supplying Max, his wife Patricia and his family with Bibles so that they can do their part in fulfilling the great commission!!
Thank you Max and Patricia!! See you again soon!

I think his Eyepatch looks awesome!! I told him he should keep it on. We had a great laugh!!

Joseph's Story....

I could not do what I do effectively without the support of Give the Word and their provision of Bibles. I have so many things to share with you about how God has been using His Word through my willingness to share it with people. I'll start with this...

I know that God has called me to share the Gospel. I get those small voices, those nudges from the Holy Spirit promting me to approach people. Poeple who need Jesus are everywhere. Their are swarms of people everyday walking to work, shopping, taking a walk.. the opportunties seem endless. Sure, I have my share of those who swear at me, who mock me, who tell me to get lost....but then their are those who take it all in, who ask questions, who receive Jesus into their hearts for the very first time. Wether the end result was positive or negative, I know that I have stood up for Jesus and there is always joy in that.

Calvary Temple has been my home church since I moved here from Africa. They are the ones who started me off with Bibles to give away. They get their Bibles from Give the Word too and Pastor Bruce was more than happy to provide me with some. I would tell him all about what I was doing with them. I wasn't just giving them to anyone with a handout, I would only give Bibles away when I would either have a meaningful conversation with someone, when the person I was talking to showed real interest or when there was a sincere commitment made for Christ. After I went through all the Bibles I was given, I was wondering how I was going to get more. I have a family to feed, I don't make a lot of money and can't afford to go and purchase Bibles all the time. That is when I heard an add on CHVN 95.1fm for Give the Word. It was talking about how they provide free Bibles for people involved in outreach. I thought, could this be real? I called their number and talked to Ryan, the director and told him about my ministry and asked if he would be able to provide me with some Bibles. He said “Sure, come in and tell me more about what you are doing and we'd love to help you out”. I was so happy!! I met Ryan at his office and saw a warehouse full of Bibles. So you just GIVE these all away? I asked. I was in tears, what a blessing to be able to freely give away the greatest gift we have. I walked away with a whole box of Bibles and all I had to do in return was let him know how they were being used. This is amazing!!

Here's just one story of how I've used the Bibles you have given me...

..It was Sunday morning before church. I was walking along Notre Dame and Sherbrook and saw a few people standing infront of a store that was about to open. I got the nudge, that little voice, the Holy Spirit telling me to go and talk to those people. I listened and walked over to them. I introduced myself and talked to the first person in line...he told me to stop talking, so I respected him and listened. The other two started to swear at me and told me to go away. I started walking away and saw that the store clerk was staring at me. The Holy Spirit told me to walk back and talk to the clerk...so I did. It was just me and the clerk so I opened up a converation with him. I started telling him about Jesus and he was all ears. He was behind glass and asked me to talk louder so he could hear me better. I knew the Holy Spirit was present and working. We talked for quite awhile and I asked him if he would like to accept Christ. He said YES and we prayed together. He was so happy!! After receiving the best gift ever given, Salvation, I was able to give him the second best gift, The Bible and invited him to come to our church one Sunday. I walked away with tears of joy. What a mightly God we serve!!

I want to thank Give the Word for all they do for me. I have come back for Bibles many times and they are always so happy to give them to me. I can't beleive that a ministry like this is available. Thank you to everyone who provides funding for these Bibles. What a gift to be able to make the Bible so free and accesible for people like me.

A shelved Bible finds a pair of hands...

This morning we received a call from a lady who asked if we could send her a Bible asap. She said she is housesitting for someone and found one of our Bibles (Thirst Quenchers NLT) in among one of their book shelves. She couldn't stop reading it and wanted a Bible of her own. She said she loved the extra notes in it that explained christianity so well...she then paused and said...actually I have some friends who need this as well, could you please send me 6 so I can give some away?
What a great phone call...you know, that Bible on the bookshelf may have been sitting there for a long time, but someone comes along, reads it and the Word comes alive, bares fruit and multiplies.
We will be dropping those Bibles off for her today.

You know it's a God then when....

You walk into a Christian book store....see a stack of 14 copies of the exact Bibles that a ministry is looking for, one that I cannot get through our Give the Word supplier.. tell the store owner about the ministry and he the store owner says..."you can have them...why wait for them to be sold when a ministry needs them now"
These are $40.00 each per Bible and they were given to us for FREE to give to this ministry. JUST INCREDIBLE!!

Opportunity always knocks when you're prepared.

Always keep a Bible with you...and be ready to give it away

Today I got an email from someone who said....Can you please go give a Bible to "Chief" (his nickname). He just got baptized yesterday and needs a Bible. Turns out I was right by the recovery home today where he's staying..I was able to personally give him a Bible...his first. Happy was an understatement.
In that same home, I ran in to my neighbour that I grew up with who is now in recovery at this home....had a long chat about how he's trying to get his life back together physically and spiritually.

Not every opportunity looks like this...but it's amazing what happens when we are prepared. Keep a Bible with you....you won't regret it.

OK, just received an AWESOME story!! Ready?

A long distance trucker I know very well recently gave his Life back to Jesus after living for many years with his back completely turned from God..in fact, he would have considered himself an atheist.

Life without Jesus started to take a toll on his life. After having many conversations with him and many answered prayers, he gave his life back to Jesus. I challenged him to take a case of Bibles with him on the Road to give away as God provides opportunities. He's been able to share his faith with a number of people at truck stops already...he says its an awesome place to meet people who are lonely, searching and willing to talk.

Yesterday he calls me up and says..I just gave away a whole box of Bibles you gave me. A guy came up to me at a truckstop in Virginia and tried to share his faith with me and gave me a tract. After I told him I was a Christian already, he says " I am at this truckstop all the time telling people about Jesus. I buy these tracts with my own money and was wondering if you could spot me some cash so I can buy more. This guy was awesome...spending his days sharing his testimony with truckers and introducing them to the Gospel. I said, I have something better than cash..I have a whole box of Bibles for people who are searching. I'm going to give you the entire Box.
This guy was unbelievably happy!! He couldn't believe it!!
Give the Word is going to be getting a call from this guy when he needs more....I can't wait to have a conversation with him.

Give the Word reaching truckers in Virginia...who'd of thought!!

Daycare wants to Give The Word...

Where are Bibles going today? Large daycare centre in Winnipeg

Got a call from a Christian daycare here in Winnipeg yesterday. They expressed that although they advertise as a christian daycare, not much is done in the way of teaching the kids about Jesus. They also have many kids that are coming from unchurched homes. They asked if we would be able to partner with them in making Bibles available for them to give the the kids and their families. They have a HUGE open door to share the Gospel with these kids and they are now wanting to take full advantage of this.
We will be giving them their first case of Bibles today and they could not be happier. This is exciting!!

some of these kids will be hearing the Gospel for the first time. Pray that the Bibles they receive will not only change the course of the children's lives, but the course of their entire families

My Word will not return void..it will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11

It's actually that easy!!

Dear Give the Word....I still (until recently) had the Bible that you challenged me with to give away. Our water heater broke and so we had a guy come over and fix it. He was down there for about an hour and I worked up the courage to ask about his faith. We ended up talking for about half an hour about what we each believed and I ended up giving him the Bible which he gladly accepted. Who knew it could be so easy!!
Some people get to be the seed planters, some get to be the ones who lead people straight to Jesus. Thanks for the challenge...I'll do it again!

Got a call from a guy who is coaching and mentoring a Hockey team. He heard about Give the Word equipping people to share their faith through word of mouth and decided he would try and reach some people in his life. He wants to lead his boys on the Hockey team to Jesus and also asked if we could provide him outreach Bibles to help him with that. He also asked for some Gospel of John's to give away to all the trick-or-treaters at their house tomorrow.....its so inspiring to see all the people out there who have a burden to see others come to Christ. So glad we can help with that.

Awesome evening in Altona speaking at the Limitless youth worship night. We challenged a gym full of teens to step out and share their faith. Could not believe the excitement that people had to do this!! so awesome!! Looking forward to hearing the stories of how they gave their Bibles away.
One girl came up to me and said....I know now that I need to always be equipped with a Bible to give away. She said I often have chances to share my faith but I never have anything to give them. Just awesome!!
A huge thank you to those who sponsored these Bibles to be given. 144 Bibles were given away last night. The Bibles that were left over went to the Altona Youth for Christ and they will be doing this project with the kids their too!! Love it!!

Someone asked me recently... Why does Give The Word provide Bibles for free even to people who CAN afford them? Do you have conditions put on the Bibles you give away? Great questions…

1. We do a lot of speaking to youth groups, churches and individuals on the importance of Sharing your faith and provide the Bibles for them to do it.
Know God….and make Him known!!
We raise funds to provide Bibles so that cost is never an issue when an individual or group wants to share their faith. When you attach a condition to the gift, they have a reason to not Give a Bible away.

2. When working with ministries or churches (camps/prisons/street ministries/youth/…we will always gladly accept donations for the Bibles we provide for them. On the other hand, if cost is a reason for someone or an organization NOT to give Bibles away, we would rather eliminate that cost/donation barrier by providing the Bibles and offering them a tool to maximize their outreach.

3. Yes we have a conditions.
- We chat with every ministry that we provide Bibles for about how the Bibles will be used should we partner with them. We ask when the Bibles will be used, and how many will they be needing. The last thing we want is to give Bibles away and have them sit in a warehouse or for the Bibles to be given to believers who just want to add to their Bible collection. We put so much work into funding these Bibles…it would be unwise to not be careful in these areas.
-We ask every single ministry we connect with to give a story and picture of what happened with the Bibles they received. This is a must. We want to make sure our supporters feel connected to what we are doing and to know that Bibles are truly going out to ministries who need them.

We work very hard to raise the funds needed to buy outreach focused Bibles so that ministries and individual can have free access to the Word of God. We usually have around 5000-10,000 Bibles on hand at at time. As our stock goes down…we are hard at work to make sure we can order another 10-15 thousand to keep up.

Many supporting ministries and churches provide funding for the Bibles they need voluntarily. As relationships are formed and the vision is caught, many churches come on board to help supply funding for Bibles to the ministries who cannot afford them and to the ones who we are just starting out building relationships with.

Give The Word…..It's what we do….It's our SOUL purpose!

Thank you to all our supporters who generously give so that we can do what we do. Thank you to all the ministries out their who are active in getting the Word into peoples hands. Thank you to our amazing God is opening new doors every day!!

Join our support team!! Every $4 gives a Bible away.

Hi Ya'll!! Many of you have been keeping up with our updates that we post on Facebook. God is at work in so many peoples lives and it is an honour and a privilege to be able to supply Bibles to so many ministries who are doing such amazing things!!

We are continuing to grow!! as more ministries hear about Give the Word and are in need of Bibles and as more people are taking up the challenge to share their faith - Our Bible orders are becoming larger. We'd love to have you as a part of our support team.

Would you consider $20/month? This would allow us to give away 5 Bibles every month. Might not sound like much...but if we had 100 people commit to $20/month...this would allow us to Give away an ADDITIONAL 6000 Bibles a year. That's 0.66cents/day. Crazy eh??

We'd love to have you as a part of our Give the Word support team. You can even do this all online.

Give the Word & I Am Second getting Bibles into Schools!!!

Give the Word has been partnering with I am Second. One of the goals and missions for Danny Mackay (Canadian ambassador for I am Second) is starting I Am Second groups in our MB public schools. They are training teens to become ambassadors for Christ in their schools and to their friends. Yesterday Danny had over 60 kids in his lunch hour training class at the windsor park school who wanted hands on training on how to share their faith. Give the Word was able to provide every person with an outreach Bible that they are going to use to introduce Jesus to their friends. This program is working...kids are finding Jesus and telling their friends. God has been pushed out of the public school system....or has he? God loves these kids and its our job to step out and reach our kids for Christ.
Danny says.....We want to thank Give the Word for providing such an amazing resource to equip these kids with. As kids take up the challenge to share Jesus with their friends, Bibles are and absolute must. To have a ministry like Give the Word on board with us is priceless.

The pictures below were taken yesterday at the Windsor Park public school. 60 teens took up the challenge to start sharing their faith in school. Amazing!!!

It is only through our Donors and through God's open doors that we are able to do this. The need for outreach Bibles is growing... If you would like to come on board with Give the Word in helping us to freely supply Bibles to ministries like this, please visit us at www.givetheword.ca or email us at info.givetheword@gmail.com

They're IN!!!

They're IN!!!!!
Give the Word took on a Bible project with Fresh IE andhttps://www.facebook.com/KMFManitoba. We love their heart in reaching our younger generation for Christ and have seen the fruits of their ministry. We took it on to fund and Design (with Tone Cote and Regehrs Regehr's Printing) this Bible to be able to give the the KMF ministry to freely give away to youth who want to know Jesus. This Bible is filled with extra helps for brand new believers as well as Fresh IE's testimony.
Today we were able to give KMF the first 500 Bibles that were printed.
A huge THANK YOU to our donors for making this happen. We also want to say a huge thank you to Tony Cote for his design work as well as Regehr's Printing for everything that they do for Give the Word. You have truly been a huge blessing in getting this project off the ground and well as the many other projects that we have done together!! Love you all!!

Customs officer finds Jesus in a Bible...

I traveled to North Carolina this this week for a Give the Word/Equip board meeting and had a layover in Toronto both there and back. As I approached the Canada customs desk the officer asks me where i'm from and what I do for a living. After giving him the info, he asked me some deeper and more specific questions about my time in ministry ....turns out he had received one our of new believers Bibles and had found Jesus through reading it and gave me a huge thank you

for what we do. Needless to say we both thought it was pretty awesome to meet each other in this unlikely place.

We can only do so much to ensure that Bibles are being given to the right people, but God's Word truly does not return void!!
